WEEE Compliance Options

It is mandatory that producers register through a compliance scheme. For producers already using RID UK's collection and recycling services this can continue on the same basis as RID UK have links to a number of WEEE compliance schemes enabling us to continue to process and report your collections through these schemes.

All the alternatives for producer compliance are as follow:

Private WEEE Compliance Scheme

A producer could set up a private WEEE compliance scheme to register directly with the Environment Agency. This has the same administration requirements of all WEEE compliance schemes and would cost £12174 to register for a 3 year period as well as the producer registration fee of £30 for Non VAT registered companies, £220 for VAT registered companies with a turnover below £1 Million and £445 for companies with a turnover above £1 Million. The producer would then be in a position to arrange their own product end of life management either themselves or through a third party recycler.

Full WEEE Compliance Scheme

A producer could join a full WEEE compliance scheme. The charges of £30 for Non VAT registered companies, £220 for VAT registered companies with a turnover below £1 Million and £445 for companies with a turnover above £1 Million, would still apply but the WEEE compliance scheme would register/report on behalf of its members and the £12174 would be spread across the membership of that WEEE compliance scheme. The WEEE compliance scheme would then charge the individual producers a joining fee, normally based on company turnover, and subsequently they would charge for all the collection/recycling undertaken on behalf of that producer.

Register & Report WEEE Compliance Scheme

A producer could join a WEEE compliance scheme solely to register and report for them whilst still looking after the product end of life management themselves. The charges of £30 for Non VAT registered companies, £220 for VAT registered companies with a turnover below £1 Million and £445 for companies with a turnover above £1 Million, would still apply but the WEEE compliance scheme would register/report on behalf of its members and the £12174 would be spread across the membership of that WEEE compliance scheme. The individual producer would then be free to arrange the end of life management of their products giving recycling figures to the scheme to report back on their behalf.

Agreement with WEEE Compliance Scheme

RID UK Ltd are happy to anounce that we have strong links with a number of compliance schemes and are tendering for collection and recycling from the schemes enabling our customer and potential customers to continue to use our services.

Our recycling solutions have been tried and tested and we can offer cost effective solutions for companies of all sizes. Collection methods include reply paid envelopes for WEEE up to 5KG, WEEE boxes for up to 25KG with these being supplied flat pack and collected by ANC parcel services. In addition we can offer small 90KG bins, large 500kg bins and skips if required for larger producers. This is complemented by pallet collections from anywhere in the UK on back loads to keep transport costs to an absolute minimum.
