RID UK undertake UPS & Drives Recycling and treat all drives on the basis that the electrolytic capacitors within the drive contain dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethyl acetamide (DMAC). These capacitors are removed and placed with other capacitors that may contain Polychlorinated Naphthalenes (PCN's) and P oly C hlorinated B iphenyls (PCB's). All capacitors are therefore removed and sent for specialist incineration to destroy the hazardous/toxic chemicals.
